The woods here run deep—not the manicured kind, but thick stands of oak and pine that back up against properties where you can actually breathe. Out here, land comes in chunks: twenty, thirty, sometimes forty acres, with ponds and clearings carved into the trees, close enough to M-20 for a quick run into town but far enough that the highway feels like someone else's commute. A handful of golf courses thread through the landscape, and the water—Clear Lake, Chippewa Lake, and others—sits within reach for fishing and kayaking without turning into a tourist gauntlet.
