Set in the middle of Grandville — a Grand Rapids suburb in Kent County, not the city of Grand Rapids itself — this pocket takes its cues from the 14-acre Wedgwood Park on Wilson Avenue SW. The park does most of the talking: lighted baseball, softball, football, and soccer fields, a volleyball court, pickleball courts, a pavilion with charcoal grills and picnic tables, a campfire area, and a new playground that opened recently. A linear trail spur reaches out from the park along the residential streets, so for a lot of these homes the green space really is right across the road. The name comes straight from the park; beyond that its origin isn't documented, so anyone who hands you a longer backstory is guessing. (You'll also see the spelling both ways — the city signs read "Wedgwood," while listings and the neighborhood slug use "Wedgewood" — same place either way.)
