Down at the southern end of the Grandville area, where the southwest side of the Grand Rapids metro runs up against M-6 and the Grand River, the land turns to newer subdivisions and standalone condos threaded through wooded ravines. The name is a plain geographic one — the southern portion of Grandville, a city that took its own name from its spot on the Grand River — rather than a platted village with a founding story of its own. Most of what you see here went up between the early 2000s and the 2020s, so the history is short by design: master-planned courts and cul-de-sacs laid out on the grid between 52nd and 64th Streets, with Ivanrest and Wilson Avenues running north and south. The footprint straddles the municipal line, so addresses land in either Grandville or Wyoming depending on which side of the border they sit.
