Grandville

When you drive into Grandville, the first thing you notice is space—wide streets lined with contemporary homes, the Grand River threading quietly through town, and the kind of retail sprawl that means you're never more than a few minutes from what you need. Founded in 1833 along a crucial bend in the river, this incorporated city of roughly sixteen thousand sits about four miles southwest of downtown Grand Rapids, close enough that the city hum reaches you but far enough that the pace feels genuinely its own. The West Side earned its nickname partly because of places like RiverTown Crossings, the largest shopping and dining district in West Michigan, but mostly because of what surrounds it—parks everywhere (sixteen within walking distance), hiking and biking trails that follow the river, and a string of local restaurants that suggest Grandville has more flavors than a typical suburb. A coffee shop is literally steps away; a grocery store, less than a mile.
