Heritage Park

The name comes straight from the 19-acre city park at 4264 Canal Avenue SW, on Grandville's west side off Canal Ave near Kenowa. At the center of the park stands the No. 10 Schoolhouse, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1887 and now kept as a working museum — desks, a classroom, and a replica schoolmarm's quarters, stewarded by the Grandville Historical Commission. That preservation streak is where the area gets both its name and its anchor. There's no official municipal boundary drawn here; people orient by the park and the streets that feed into it — Blackfoot Drive, Lucas Drive SW, McClow Street, and a run of cul-de-sacs that back onto the woods and the trail leading in. The plat names locals still use — Douglas Addition, Sutton Estates, Kenowa Air Plat — are old survey labels more than chartered neighborhoods.
