Piney Ridge

The pines crowd right up to the road here, so close you could reach out and touch them as you drive through—that's the whole character of the place right there. Out here on the western shore of Hamlin Lake, you've got maybe a dozen cottages and homes scattered along Piney Ridge Road, most with direct water access or shared beach rights, and plenty of them operate as seasonal rentals that bring in summer income. The lake itself is the anchor: some properties sit on 80+ feet of private frontage, and if you don't own waterfront, the association amenities and public access points keep the water close. Ludington State Park sprawls across the road to the east, so hiking trails and sand dunes are literally minutes away, and downtown Ludington—about 10 minutes south—has restaurants like the Perch that draw people from all over. It's small enough that you won't find much commerce here, just water, trees, and the kind of quiet that makes a rental property attractive to people looking for an escape.
