You'll find Yesterdog here—that legendary burger stand that inspired American Pie and earned LoveFood.com's title of most legendary restaurant in Michigan—sitting alongside Wolfgang's, a breakfast institution since 1977, and a whole corridor of restaurants and shops that line Wealthy Street and Lake Drive. The neighborhood grew as a streetcar suburb bridging downtown and Reeds Lake, and that mixed urban-suburban character still defines it: brick homes from the early 1900s with wide front porches, solid trees, and Wilcox Park anchoring things with a splash pad, basketball and tennis courts, and hammock stands. The Circle Theatre on the Aquinas College grounds carries on a summer theatre tradition dating to 1953.
