You're going to drive everywhere here—this is ranch-home country where the car is king and a quarter-mile might as well be across town. Stone and vinyl-sided houses sit on lots that demand a vehicle mentality, though if you're willing to walk a grocery run or hit a restaurant, fifteen minutes and thirteen minutes respectively will get you there on foot. The unnamed park is a twelve-minute walk if you need green space between the driveway and downtown Grand Rapids (a reasonable 26.8 minutes away), and there are two grocery stores within a two-mile radius when you're stocking up. It's the kind of place where you accept the tradeoff: car dependency in exchange for space, and you're fine with that choice.
