Deerpath Shores

Out here you're practically on the water—Lake Michigan sits just a half mile west, close enough that the rhythm of the seasons changes noticeably depending on which way the wind comes off it. The subdivision itself spreads across the higher ground, with Hungerford Lake Recreation Area about a mile away if you want something a bit quieter and landlocked. It's West Michigan shoreline living without the sense that you're clinging to the edge of something; there's actual room to breathe between the houses and the dunes, and the light here has that particular quality you only get when you're this close to a Great Lake—brighter in summer, grayer and more interesting in winter.
