Corinth

The road curves past the Corinth Reformed Church—its 1893 cornerstone still visible, more than a century of weathering on the brick—and that's when you understand what this place is: a memory that refused to vanish entirely. Platted in 1871 as a proper village, complete with a grist mill, furniture factory, blacksmith, and general store, the area watched opportunity pass by when the railroad line veered elsewhere in the 1890s, and the commercial heart simply stopped beating. What remains is scattered across open acreage—wooded lots of an acre or more, ranch homes on sizable parcels, the kind of land where you can actually see sky. The church kept growing anyway, casual and welcoming, serving as the last anchor to what was once called Cody's Mills, proof that sometimes a place's real value isn't in what it built to become, but in what it chose to keep.
