Weathervane Condominiums
Great schools with outdoor access
Walkability 5.0/10·Schools 7.2/10
...and that's basically why we landed here. The condos sit on a couple of acres in the Homewood Park area, and honestly, the location does most of the heavy lifting — downtown Grand Rapids is about 12 minutes away when you actually need to be there, but you don't feel like you're living in the thick of it. There's a restaurant within a 10-minute walk, and if you're the type who counts, there are 36 spots within a mile, so dinner options never get old. Kent Trails park is basically at your doorstep (three minutes), and there are four parks within a mile if you want variety. Coffee's about a mile and a half down the road, groceries are similarly close, and you've got access to Johnson Park's boat launch if you're into that. A transit stop is right here too, which is nice when you don't feel like driving.
