Tell someone in the car on the way here that you're heading to the Six Lakes chain. The neighborhood sits right on the water—Second Lake mostly, with channel frontage that connects to the whole system, so a pontoon or kayak gets you everywhere. Homes here are modest, ranging from updated cottages to manufactured units with serious bones, and nearly every listing mentions the view: kitchens and master bedrooms looking straight out at the water. Pole barns and detached garages suggest people actually use their yards and boats. First Lake Park is a short walk, and there are three parks within a mile, so it's the kind of place where you can be on the water or on a trail without much effort.
