So yeah, we ended up out here because you get actual space—like, an acre or more on most lots—without feeling cut off from anything that matters. It's a rural subdivision, but you're only about 12 miles from the city's main drag, so a quick run to Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, or Kalamazoo when you need it. The drive to Gerald R. Ford airport is around 26 and a half minutes, which doesn't hurt either. Most of the homes here are four-bedroom ranches and two-stories with those cathedral ceilings and open floor plans; a lot of people have put serious work into their yards and landscaping. You'll see garages, sheds, room to actually move around—cul-de-sac lots if you want a little more privacy. Duck Lake is about a mile and a half away if you're into that, and there's a boat launch maybe a 12-minute walk down the road. The whole vibe is "I want property and quiet, but I'm not willing to sit in my car for two hours to grab dinner," which honestly makes sense.
