You're going to want a car here—errands and coffee runs aren't exactly a walk away—but you're trading walkability for proximity to Grand Haven beach, which is basically a 6-minute stroll and makes for a pretty solid daily commute if you're into that kind of thing. There are a handful of restaurants within a mile and half a dozen parks nearby, so while you're not in some hyperurban pocket, you're not totally isolated either. If downtown Grand Rapids or the airport are regular destinations, plan on close to an hour of drive time, but for access to the lakeshore and that whole west-side rhythm, this spot's got you covered.
