W.C. Bradford's Addition

You arrive and the first thing that hits you is elevation—the street tilts beneath your feet, and suddenly downtown Grand Rapids spreads out below you like a map someone left open. This is W.C. Bradford's Addition, a one-acre amended plat carved into Belknap Lookout, where the neighborhood's famous 160-foot bluff transforms what could be ordinary lots into something with actual vantage. The vacated Lafayette Avenue Alley now runs through, connecting lots twelve through twenty-two across Block three, and the topography does what it wants: there are steps everywhere, four different staircases threading through the neighborhood because nothing here sits flat.
